Pirates beat Wits and holds the advantage going to the second leg

The Soweto giants Orlando Pirates beat BIDVest Wits by 2-0 at Bidvest Stadium on Sunday afternoon in the second semi-final of the MTN8 Cup 2014.

The Clever boys were looking to use their home advantage against the Soweto giants Orlando Pirates, after ten minutes both teams were 0-0, Mpho Makola had a knock on his head and was stretched off but minutes later he continued to play.

Both teams were trying so hard to create clear chances, and Pirates dominated the first half but Wits managed to hold on and the match went to halftime 0-0.

In the second half Pirates were looking for the crucial away goal while Wits were looking to use their home advantage, in the 56th minutes Siyabonga Sangweni with the header from Daine Klate’s corner, a vital away goal 0-1 in front.
